Review:Dell Inspiron 15 5548

Hey Guys its fazil here and we'll have a sneak peak into the dell inspiron 15 5000 laptops which is a line of affordable high spec laptop from dell. The 5000 series laptops comes in a variety of combinations of features and the one i picked was the core i7 full hd touch screen version with 500 GB of HDD and an 8 GB RAM.As windows 10 has came up i've decided to go with the touchscreen as the os is designed really well to be used i touch mode too.If it was just for my college run , the one with the core i5 processor would be fine for me but video rendering and all those processes require a high end performance.for gaming performance we have an AMD radeon processor and the Intel HD graphics 5500,which comes with the Fifth Gen Intel processor so you will be able to play all those fancy high graphics games..there is no optical drive.even if there was one i would replace that with an SSD so that it'll go faster. This is not a gaming laptop but most of the high end games like call of duty ,GTA 5 and league of legends works fine.

Looking from the design stand point we have a nice brushed aluminium over the top that looks great and keeps off fingerprints .The Aluminium cover also makes it sturdy and prevent it from flexing. Everything else of the chassis is plastic but look nice and tough.the keyboard is back-lit and key spacing is a little bit more than usual but will be fine if you get used to it.The trackpad is big enough with a smooth finish and gives out an good response. The entire base has kind of a Matt finish which looks great and don't leave smudges on them. The formfactor is a great with a thickness of 22mm at the edge and slopes down to the other end.The hing design looks similar to that of a MacBooks and the air vents are hidden under the hinges.(Nice touch dell!!).

The 5548 comes with a full HD Touchscreen But sadly its not an IPS panel and you wont get that fancy viewing angle that you find on usual computers. The dispay is great for indoor usage but if you are takin it outdoors you will have to stick with the full brightness. The colurs are true and contrast is fine.

Right above the screen you'll have a RealSense Webcam which still doesn't give a shit on quality.

Coming around the right side we have an Ethernet port ,an HDMI port ,Two USB 3.0 ports and a headphone jack...

on the left side we have a charging port ,sdcard slot and a USB 2.0 port, and a security lock slot.

thats all with the io.

The Fan only kicks in when working with full performance and its audible but c'mon ,for the price..you gotta sacrifice something.

On a normal use like web browsing ,videos and all those things ,You'll get about 4 hours of battery life.

Top 5 Student Laptops Of 2015

If You have been following my channel or watched my previous videos you might see that I've already made a video on the surface 3 and told that its one of the best student computer but the surface 3 is more of a hybrid and unique device that has its own place in the computer market.so we won't be including the surface 3 in the count down.I am also not including the chromebooks in this list.ofcourse they are great and affordable but they just don't work out for normal use.

My idea for a college laptop is that it can't be expensive and don't have to be a powerful gaming machine either .What i need is a battery life that holds up for a working day,a slim and lightweight design enough to slide into my backpack and a descent performance which is enough to do basic Photo and video editing ,watching videos, writing documents and browsing the web.A 13 inch or a 14 inch screen will do great and Features like backlit keyboard and SSD storage are really great to have if you can afford one. When we talk about the windows machines my minimum base specification is a core i5 processor,8 GB of RAM,and a minimum of 256 gigs storage.Having these baseline specs really helps in getting a fair performance and outcome from your laptop . So i have chose these top 5 laptops based on these basic specs.

5. dell inspiron 13 7000 series

Dell features the inspiron 13 7000 series laptops which comes with a perfectly balanced specifications and price. It starts off at around 470$ with core i3 processor ,4 GB of RAM and 500 GB of HDD and goes upto a core i7 model with 8 gigs of ram and the same hard drive capacity. You will have a 13 " full hd ips multi touch display and a backlit keyboard. The 7000 series laptops are convertible which means you can use it in different modes as a tablet or a laptop.

4.lenovo yoga 3 14

This is one of the top line convertibles on the market. This 14 inch ultrabook features a multi touch full hd ips panel and comes with a 5th Generation core i5 or i7 processor, upto 8 GB of RAM and upto 256Gigs of SSD.The Yoga 3 14 can be used in tablet mode and other modes like tend mode and stand mode which is really great for presentation and watching videos. On a normal use you will get about 8 hours of battery life. The keyboard is backlit which along with the trackpad disabes when using in tablet mode.

3.Asus ZenBook UX305

its one of the best laptop you will find on the market in this 700$ price range and for the price its a killer.the baseline model features a core M (5YM0) processor and comes with minimum 8 gigs of ram and 256 gigs of ssd.The core M processor helps in having a fanless design and the ultra thin profile.Unfortunately the keyboard is not backlit and thats the only issue i have seen so far.The device also comes with a full hd ips panel. But if you pay an extra few bucks you will get a core i5 version with a quad hd display.

2.Macbook Air 13"

If You are an OSX Fan You wont be having much of Choices like a windows user

But the 2014 MAcbook Air is one of the best apple product i have seen so far.

Even after One year of Release ,The 13" Macbook Air still hold up well with the latest ultrabooks of 2015.it has plenty of battery life , a core i5 processor,4 gigs of ram and a minimum of 128 Gigs ssd.The elegant aluminium unibody design and thin sleek design makes it the perfect ultrabook. The trackpad and the backlit keyboard is great.and weighs only about 2.4 pounds. The only negatives i have seen is the lack of upgradability. as both the ram and flash storage is soldered onto the board.

1.Dell XPS 13

For a price of 900 bucks you'll get this 13 inch ultrabook with afull hd ips display and a core i5 processor and with 4 gigs of ram and 128 gigs of ssd and goes upto the core i7 version with 8 GB of RAM and 256GB SSD which will cost u about 1400$.The keyboard is baclit and you willl have a precison trackpad. The XPS 13weighs only 2.6 pounds which is really light as as an ultrabook. The carbon fibre design and the infinity display gives it distinct look. The 15 hour battery life is really enough for a full day use.the 2015 model features a Multi touch quad hd display which makes it even better.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4:What to Expect

As its now microsoft has already launched its suface pro 3 about a year ago and back a few months ago we saw the surface 3 on the market. so ofcourse the next Laplet on the line is going to be the Surface Pro 4.Its defenitely one of the most hyped devices i've seen on 2015.

With the release of Windows 10 by the end of July, the sources speculate that the SP4 will be released along with or after the release of Windows 10.Its been rumoured that the surface pro 4 will be releasing by the end of September like a month after the release of the windows 10 and will be have the new windows 10 preinstalled. This is going to be a game changer from a product standpoint as the SP4 can  be one of the best devices that can showcase the new features of windows 10 at its best. The device is reportedly will have support for new technologies like HoloLens.
Its  reportedly is not going to have significant changes from the the previous surface pro 3 but rather is going to improve on existing framework. The pro 4 is going to be in two different sizes a 12'' and a 14 ''.The screen resolution is all going to be  same as the pro 3.The Surface Pro 3 is reportedly going to house in an Intel Core M Broadwell Chips or Skylake processors. The Core  M Processors were used on the 2015 Macbook and Microsoft seems to be making efforts to make the new Device thinner and  completely Fanless. The sp4 is reported to have more battery life and less pricing than the Surface Pro 3 ,but will have to use  less powerful Core M CPUs to fit in.
The SP4  is likely to have 16 GB of RAM and a maximum of 1TB SSD  and it also might come with an 8 MP Rearcam and a 3.5 MP front facing camera.USB type c is also expected with the new model. As for me the release of SP4 is going to be worth waiting and lets hope Microsoft don't disappoint us.

5 Reasons Surface 3 Is the best for students

As you know its been quite a while since Microsoft announced  the new surface 3  in the surface tablet line up.For me as a  College Student its  seems to be a perfect companion. You can call the new surface 3 as the little bro  of the surface pro 3 in all aspects.Surface 3 Comes with a 10.8 inch Full HD IPS display which is slightly smaller than the pro 3 and is powered by a Quad Core  Intel  atom x7 processor that turboboosts up to 2.6 GHz while its big brother comes with a core 13, i5 or i7 processors. The 64 GB model costs u about $499 with a 2 GB of RAM and the 128 GB version with 4 GB RAM will cost u an extra $100. And you will have to pay an extra $129 for the keyboard and another 50 Bucks for the Pen.
From a Students view point this   kinda convertible gadget seems perfect for my daily run and it completely outran the iPad air 2 and mac book air with spec price ratio. I Prefer this device because of its Productivity standpoint and the price when compared to the pro 3...Coz the surface pro 3 was way more than enough for me with tonnes of horsepower and not to mention its incredible cost and a few issues .And with all these things sorted up I've decided to go for the surface 3 for  college and  these are the five reasons its perfect for a student or the reasons to buy the surface 3 as a college student .

1.Form Factor and Design

the surface 3 is a full windows machine in  a tablet form factor which is also designed to be used as a laptop. Its surprisingly  light(600 grams)  with a thickness of .34 " and slides in to my backpack just like a textbook. The Improved kickstand let you use the device in three  positions and works like charm on a desk. the keyboard seems great with a travel distance of .2 mm which is same as of a macbook air .The trackpad is not that great but  i think both the pen and touch screen would fill the gap.the magnesium body seems durable for usual wear and tear but gives a premium look. The surface 3 comes with a full sized USB 3.0 port as the previous surface models and is  one of the most appealing feature i have seen so far in the surface series
2.USB  Charging and Battery Backup
USB Charging  is something  I've  been waiting since the surface RT Models. And Power Bricks are something i hate to carry in my Backpack. The.The surface 3  can be charged  with a micro USB just like most of the smartphones which means your power bank  or phone charger will do the job.The 10 hours Battery life is cool enough to get me through a full day without charging. And that's a Plus  point when i am on  the go.The USB charging and long battery life will let you forget about the power-brick.
3.Programs
The Surface 3 Comes with a full version of windows 8.1 not RT . Which allows you to use not only apps but Desktop programs like adobe Photoshop and and Word.Plus Microsoft gives out a Free Microsoft office personal for one year bundled with the device that's worth  $70.The OneNote is an Awesome tool to take down notes  both handwritten and typed and you can even record the lectures while taking down notes on OneNote. And You can use these programs in tablet mode which means that you can use them while walking or sitting in a crowded bus where you cant acctually use a laptop. This proves the surface 3 as a great productivity tool rather than a media consumption device .
4.The Surface Pen Aka Stylus
This smart stylish and sexy pen is  one of the selling point of the surface tablets .They works like magic  when it comes to making handwritten  notes. and can be used with other programs like photographs.it gives the feeling of using a real pen than a stylus. With 256 levels of pressure sensitivity, Surface Pen responds just like a real pen to create thicker, darker lines when you push harder.Palm rejection works really well while using the pen.And the App Called Drawboard PDF that comes free with the device lets you highlight the  and draw on PDF documents which gold for me as most text books i have is in PDF.
5.Memory Expansion
The Surface 3 comes with a maximum of 128 gigs of ssd storage   But the  memory can be expanded using the Hot swappable micro SD slot .Memory cards are really efficient for increasing the storage capacity coz they are cheap and its swappable if you need and this is something that an iPad cant give you.

5 Reasons Not To Buy a Surface Pro 3

Microsoft has been releasing its own flagship convertible, the 'Surface' tablets for a few years and they are getting really better in specs and design with new updates in the series. And its been a few months since Microsoft has announced its new update on the surface pro series ,the Surface Pro 3. Honestly it was one of the devices that was on my wish list coz I always loved the idea so much since the surface rt and the Surface Pro 3 is the latest device on the line. The 'size to spec' ratio of this device is really impressed me and the device seems to be so versatile and powerful comparing to a normal windows tablet(although its a bit expensive)Weighing around 1.76 pounds with a thickness of .36 inches ,seriously I've never seen such a thin and compact device could comes up with the top on the line 4th gen core i7 processor.
Coming with a 12'' 2160X1440 10 point multi touch IPS display and a full sized USB 3.0 port the table features kickstand is the best one ever with a whopping 150° rotation angle enough to use it in canvas mode. The stylus is great for drawing and making handwritten notes using OneNote .The 9hrs battery life the device comes with 5 MP front and rear cams which seems to be fair enough for a Convertible. The price starts at $799 for the core i3 64 GB version with 4GB RAM and Microsoft provides a well balanced options for processor and memory capacity and the top on the line core i7 512 GB version with 8 GB of RAM will cost you $1949.Plus it will cost you $125 for the keyboard which is kind of a reason u buy this device... so if   you are buying the tablet ,spend an extra $125 to get the 'Surface Experience' With all these mind blowing size, design and features ...I still don't want to buy this device .
So here we go.. The 5 reasons I don't wanna buy the surface pro 3

This Article doesn't mean that I hate Microsoft Surface Pro. Its a great gadget and I love its design and features. This article is for those who are in the fence whether to buy or not buy the device. After all Its up to You.

1.Nearly unusable as a 'Lap'top

The surface pro is all hailed to be used as just like a normal laptop and they are pretty much competing with the MacBook air laptops. However the fact is that even with the improved kickstand ,its really hard to use on laptop and adjust the screen towards our face even though the it works fine on a desk. I'd prefer to use a real laptops where i need a laptop

2.Pretty damn expensive

The cheapest 64gb version with i3 processor will cost u $799+$125 for that keyboard which is pretty good for typing but sucks when it comes to the trackpad. The prices will go up to as more specs fall in. Convertible laptops like Dell XPS 12 comes in same price range with a neat keyboard and trackpad.

  3.Heating issue

The device houses a 4th generation core i3,i5 or i7 processors which produces a great amount of heat. Even with all those air vents along the ides of the device ,it gets pretty hot while using. And heat is something that i really don't wish to afford with a 2 grand tablet.

4. Text scaling and stylus

The text Scaling goes really wrong and appears to be not to be sharp and its not giving full a full fledge experience. Even many windows tools look horrible with these rescaled text. The text scaling on apps from 3rd party developers is something I would love to get rid off. The stylus is great and the palm rejection works well but the problem comes when u wanna store the stylus. Microsoft advices to stick it to the side of the tablet as its magnetic and I hope its a joke and the other option is to slide into a cheap plastic holder on the keyboard cover. When we are talking stylus ,it should fit 'inside ' the device and should be an integral part of the design.

5.Wait for the surface pro 4

Buying the surface pro 3 won't be such a great move with only a few weeks to the announcement of surface pro 4 which would be a great update for the pro series with new features. So calm off and wait for the best..
